The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen seemed a little
dull when compared to the star-studded night which
awaited those lucky enough to get tickets for the
spectacular black-tie Press and Journal Energy Ball
in 2009.
A sparkling night of top-class entertainment which
included breathtaking dance routines from Anton Du
Beke and Erin Boag, top professional dancers from
Strictly Come Dancing, set the Aberdeen Exhibition
and Conference Centre alight for the social event
of the year.
Organised once again by George Walker Events this
prestigious annual event just keeps growing and
growing. Garry Michie, Operations Director for Well
Services UK at Aker Qserv said, “The industry has
had a tough time of it in recent months and it was
refreshing to be in a gathering that celebrates the
many success stories still out there, and to see
that confidence in the sector remains high.”
George Yule, Chief Executive of Dominion Gas,
added, “The Energy Ball has become a key date in
Aberdeen’s social calendar and 2009 has been no
exception.”
