The now world famous Emmerdale Extravaganza
launched for the first time in the summer of 2001
and has grown into a mammoth fundraising phenomenon
becoming the only one if its kind certainly in
Scotland and Northern Ireland and finishing as the
largest fundraising Extravaganza of its time.
Originating and staying in Aberdeen for seven years
the Emmerdale Extravaganza took the stars from
ITV’s favourite soap to Northern Ireland in 2008 to
raise funds for The Anthony Nolan Trust. With a
unique approach this amazing extravaganza brought
the public together with celebrities of the popular
television world for a fun packed weekend of
action. Full of family entertainment for everyone,
over the years visitors were given the chance to
meet the stars and take part in various activities
such as the Emmerdale Go Loopy Aircraft Challenge,
Wing Walking on 1940’s Bi-planes, golf, abseiling,
fun runs, 5-a-side football, bungee jumping, zip
slides, bike rides and the list goes on. Supporters
travelled from far and wide to soak up the
atmosphere starting with the grand parade of
vintage vehicles delivering the stars to the event
in style. Children’s rides, entertainments and
displays, falconry, Army Cook Off, food, shopping,
aerobatic shows, live music, dancing, fashion
shows, dog shows and dog agility, faking it with
the local pipe band, charity auctions, radio road
shows, all the fun of the fair and much more
besides.
The sell out spectacular finale was the most
popular part of the Emmerdale Extravaganza. Star
studded and packed with fun the Emmerdale Dinner
Dance and Charity Auction topped the entertainments
calendar each year and saw world class performers,
singers and musicians take to the stage including
performances from various Emmerdale cast members
themselves.
George Walker Events would like to thank every
individual and company who has supported this
amazing event over its history. From volunteers to
visitors, supporters, major sponsors and everyone
in between it would not have been possible to raise
the amazing amount it did had it not been for you!

take the Emmerdale Extravaganza from here and we
hope you’ll join us for the most exciting chapter
yet…
