Aberdeen became the first city outside Dubai to host
the first ever European Oil Barons’ Ball branded the
event of the year. The Press and Journal in
association with Pipeline magazine in Dubai presented
the largest social event of 2007 at the Aberdeen
Exhibition and Conference Centre on Saturday the 18th
of August.
Organised by George Walker Events this sparkling gala
dinner brought together more than 1400 Energy sector
professionals and guests from right across the globe.
This formal event included a stunning set, top class
live music from Motown giants the Drifters and the
Four Tops, and the crowning of the first European Oil
Baron.
Tom Smith, joint Chairman of Oil and Gas UK and
Managing Director of telecommunications specialist
Nessco, picked up the coveted title and was
deservingly crowned European Oil Baron in 2007.
